Hello Section C-7 Membership,
After taking all of the information and recommendations that are available from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), state and local health departments, state and local governments, and the Boy Scouts of America, the Section Leadership Team has made the decision to CANCEL our annual Section Conclave scheduled for April 17-19, 2020 at Stronghold Camp & Retreat Center. Full reimbursements will be issued for anyone that has already signed-up and paid for Conclave via PayPal. Please allow 5-7 business days to see the refund in your accounts. If you elected to pay via your Lodge, please work directly with your Lodge Adviser on reimbursement for any payments that you have already made.
Ultimately, the safety and well-being of our Arrowmen and their families are our top priority. This is an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (commonly known as the coronavirus) through limiting any unnecessary contact and travel to public events. This decision was not made lightly and involved significant discussion amongst the Section Leadership over the past two weeks as the COVID-19 situation continued to evolve at an extremely rapid pace.
We do NOT plan to reschedule the 2020 Section Conclave and we are working on the impact this will have on the Section. We are planning to incorporate some aspects into online availability, utilizing NOAC, and adding to our Fall Council of Chiefs Meeting.
IMPORTANT Section Election Information:
- We will now be holding Section Elections, via Teleconference, on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.
- All specific details will be sent directly to the Lodge Chiefs, Lodge Advisers, and Lodge Staff Advisers for dissemination to all of their Lodge memberships no later than April 1st.
- **Election Letters are NOW DUE by 12-Noon on Sunday, April 12th to Section Adviser Eugene Woehrle (ewoehrle@gmail.com). This is to provide Arrowmen running for Section Office enough time to prepare for the adapted election process that will occur via teleconference.**
Additionally, R.D. Dunkin Leadership in Service Award nominations have been extended until 10:00 a.m. on April 18, 2020, as well. Please nominate our C-7 Arrowmen that are worthy of this honor. Nomination forms can be located HERE. R.D. Dunkin Award recognition will primarily take place at NOAC 2020 and Fall Council of Chiefs 2020.
The Section is also assessing its financial situation with the cancellation of Section Conclave and will notify the Lodge Chiefs, Lodge Advisers, and Lodge Staff Advisers of any Section needs moving forward.
