2020 R.D. Dunkin Leadership in Service Award recipients announced

On June 9th, 2020, Section C-7 announced the recipients of the R.D. Dunkin Leadership in Service Award.

This award is designed to recognize those within Section C-7 who go far beyond their immediate responsibilities as Arrowmen and by doing so have laid a path of excellence for other Arrowmen to follow. The award is named after R.D. Dunkin, who believed that young people can grow to exceptional strengths and reach their full potential with the right combination of leadership, education, mentorship, and love. R.D. Dunkin served as the Central Region Order of the Arrow Chairman for sixteen years and is responsible for shaping the region structure and program into what it is today.

Matthew Bazan
Patrick McInerney
Timothy Witek
Adam Peterson
Stephen Hamm
Russell Snella

Matthew Bazan is a member of Lowaneu Allanque Lodge. He was the Conclave Vice Chief (CVC) of the AIA/ICE Committee for numerous years, attending many Section Conclaves in a row.

Patrick McInerney is a member of Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Lodge. Patrick served Section C-7 on the Training Committee at Conclaves, as the ’18-’19 Section Secretary, and served as Section Chief in ’19-’20 until he was elected to serve as the 2020 Central Region Chief.

Timothy Witek is a member of Takhone Lodge. Timothy served Section C-7 on the Promotions Committee as a member and as the CVC. In addition, in 2018, Timothy was elected to serve as Section Secretary. Recently, he served on the Section Communications Team as the Deputy Lead.

Adam Peterson is a member of Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Lodge. Adam has served the Section in a variety of roles, including a CVC, Committee member, and also had the honor of serving as Section Secretary, Section Vice Chief, and Section Chief for Section C-7, all in his time as a youth.

Stephen Hamm is a member of Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Lodge. Stephen has served at the Section, Regional, and National levels of the Order of the Arrow. In the past years, Stephen has attended DYLC, served on staff for the Section Officer Seminar, served as one of the Section C-7 Training Advisers, joined NOAC 2020 ICE staff, and also taken on a significant role on the Central Region Logistics Team.

Russell Snella is a member of Lowaneu Allanque Lodge. Russell has served the Section in many capacities, including serving as the Adviser for the Shows Conclave Committee, the Special Events Adviser, and as the Publications Adviser.

These Arrowmen will be celebrated and congratulated at the 2020 Section C-7 Fall Council of Chiefs, on September 20th!
