2022 Year in Review: A Success Story

This past year has only been filled with successes and positive changes for our section. It is impossible to describe all of the accomplishments of the section, lodges, and Arrowmen, but we may try.

To start, our very own Tim Reiss was elected as national chief, where he oversaw a mind-blowing NOAC that 300 Arrowmen from our section attended or staffed. The first event the section hosted this year was the Winter Council of Chiefs, a luau-themed party at the Kalahari, and while there, Peter Selfors was elected as section chief.

As chief, he led the planning for Conclave 2022: Lift Off! held at Indian Mound Scout Reservation and hosted by Kanwa tho Lodge. This conclave blasted Arrowmen out of this world with a Blackhawk helicopter landing, flash-bang demo, car smash, and so many other unique and crazy activities! The officer elections on Sunday, where Collin Welke, Kyle Land, and Eli Levsky were elected, marked the official transition from Section C-7 to Section G9.

Besides the Section Gathering at NOAC, our first official event of Section G9 was the Fall Council of Chiefs and ACT Conference, where Arrowmen gathered to learn how to support their lodges and begin planning for next year’s conclave. Between the three section events, there was a total attendance of over 500 Arrowmen! Additionally, 24 Arrowmen from around the section attended NLS/DYLC! These are outstanding metrics that will surely be surpassed in 2023. The transition to Section G9 is a success story, and our section will only continue to grow.

Section G9 has stayed committed to our fundamental mission to support the eight lodges and thousands of Arrowmen despite the massive challenges of the last few years. Arrowmen from across the section have excelled in leadership in their chapter all the way up to national. As we close out the 2022 year, we want every Arrowmen to take a quick look back on the year and think about their own successes and achievements and how this year has been one of growth.

We look forward to seeing everyone in 2023, starting with WCOC. This coming year, our section and lodges will continue to become stronger and more accomplished!

Yours in Brotherhood,

Collin Welke; Section Chief

Kyle Land; Section Vice Chief

Eli Levsky; Section Secretary
