Section Chief

Catherine Archer (she/her)

Catherine is an Eagle Scout from Waupecan Lodge, where she has previously served as the Vice Chief of Program and Lodge Secretary. She has also had an amazing time this past year serving as the Section Secretary. Catherine also staffs at Rainbow Scout Reservation where she will be the Camp Commissioner this year! Outside of the OA, Catherine is active in her troop as a JASM and Venturing Crew.

In the fall, Catherine will be attending the Illinois Institute of Technology to study Civil Engineering. In her free time, she can be found hiking, reading, or playing her french horn. 

Section Vice Chief

Madilynn Puetz (she/her)

Madilynn is an Eagle Scout from Kanwa tho Lodge where she has served as Lodge Chief and formerly Chapter Chief along with other positions. This summer will be her second year as staff for the Three Harbors NYLT course as she serves as Assistant Course Lead of Program. Besides her involvement in the OA, Madilynn enjoys her time within her BSA unit and NYLT staff group. 

 

In the fall, Madilynn will be attending the University of Minnesota Twin Cities to study Cellular and Organismal Physiology. In her time outside of Scouting, Madilynn enjoys reading, kayaking, or playing her viola!

Section Secretary

Jill Harvey (she/her)

Jill is an Eagle Scout from Takhone Lodge, where she serves as the Vice Chief of Communication and formerly served as the Social Media Chair. This summer will be Jill’s third year on staff at Owasippe Scout Reservation where she will be the Wolverine Assistant Aquatics Director. Outside of the OA, Jill is active in her local Venturing and Sea Scout units. 

In the fall, Jill will be attending the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign where she will be studying Marketing and International Business. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, or playing her clarinet. 

Section Advisers

Section Adviser

Brian Schaeffer (he/him)

Brian is an Eagle Scout and Vigil honor member in Takhone Lodge. He is a former lodge chief and section chief, He has also served as an associate section adviser and Takhone lodge adviser. Outside of scouting, he works as a financial planner and is also the treasurer for a Northbrook based non-profit foundation.

Outside of Scouting, Brain is a proud uncle of three nieces who are Cub Scouts in the Far East Council.

Vice Chief Adviser

Cathlynn Peters (she/her)

Cathlynn Peters is a Vigil Honor member of Takhone Lodge, where she just ended her role as an associate lodge adviser and was previously the staff adviser. In the section, she has served as the activities cvc adviser. She looks forward to her new role in Section G9, working with this awesome leadership team.

Away from scouting, Cathlynn likes to hike, ski, and dance. Her friendships in the OA got her started backpacking, and now her only wish is that she had started earlier. One of her favorite places is Philmont, where her most recent trek there was in September for Autumn Adventure.
