With just a few days remaining to register, now is the perfect time to join the fun at the Section G9 Conclave: Backcountry Brotherhood; registration now closes next Sunday, April 16. This year’s conclave will provide an unforgettable weekend of experiences from April 21-23 at Camp Big Timber as we come together for our first conclave as Section G9!
Our conclave planning committees have been hard at work to ensure that there will not be a dull moment! Special events include glow-in-the-dark archery, the Order of the Arrow High Adventure Breakfast with 2022 National Chief Tim Reiss, and the Grand Ho-Dag. You will not want to miss the Duck Hunt either, where Arrowmen race around trying to find the most ducks hidden around camp, and whoever catches the most will win a surprise prize! All of these tree-tastic activities are just the first branch on the tree!
Each lodge will have its chance to show off during the Masters of the Outdoors Relay Race and the Loaves & Fishes food drive! The lodge with the most donated items will have the chance to pie the three section officers, and the Arrowman who donated the most items will get to pie National Chief Zach Grinvalsky!
For the first time, adults can compete in the Arrowmen Backcountry Brunch cook-off! Participants should bring their own ingredients and cookware (firewood will be provided by filling out this form). Chefs will have 2 ½ hours to create their dishes. Be prepared for your brunch to be judged on authenticity, taste, presentation, and of course… the secret ingredient!
Conclave will feature various top-notch trainers in ceremonies, Scouting skills, cooking with a Dutch oven, and even a leadership session from Zach Grinvalsky. A full list of sessions can be found on the section website.
For those interested in an opportunity to shape the future of the section, officer elections will be taking place on Sunday, April 23, following breakfast, to elect our section chief, vice chief, and secretary. Candidates must submit written approval from their council Scout Executive or designee by noon on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
