About this Edition
Hello and welcome to the third chapter of the Conclave Travelogue! It’s time to showcase some of the fun you can expect at this year’s “Around the World” themed conclave and update the lodge registration numbers.
Special Events
Helicopter Landing – Special this year! Join Special Events around the Parade Field just after lunch on Saturday to watch one of our very own Arrowmen land a Helicopter! After landing you will have the ability to go up to (and maybe in?!) the helicopter.
Food Drive – As Arrrowmen, it is our duty to give back to our community. Help us donate to a local food drive by bringing nonperishable foods and health products like soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, and toilet paper. This year, we will have a lodge contest to see which lodge can bring the most donations!
Touch-a-Truck – In the afternoon, enjoy booths and demonstrations from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Buckhorn State Park, and more. Talk to rangers, inspect animal artifacts, and even touch a truck!
Activities
Lodge Olympics – Come compete with your lodge in the Section G9 Lodge Olympics! Test your skills in gaga ball, relay races, and much more.
Adult Leader Cook-Off – Advisers that do not wish to participate in trainings can participate in an exciting and delicious cooking challenge instead. Each contestant will prepare an international dish with a secret ingredient announced later!
Climbing Tower – Come over and scale the Climbing Wall at Ed Bryant Scout Reservation. Travel above the camp on sky-high ziplines and climb your way to new destinations!
Range and Target Sports – At conclave, you will have an opportunity to participate in an open shoot. Come on over on Saturday afternoon to enjoy some time at the archery, rifle, and tomahawk ranges!
Trainings
Leadership Training with Region Chief Haley Flores – Join Gateway Region Chief Haley Flores in learning more about what it means to be a leader! During this insightful session, Haley will share her experiences and provide practical tips on what it truly means to lead with integrity, vision, and influence.
How to Brotherhood – Discover the deeper meaning of Brotherhood and how to foster stronger, more meaningful connections within your group! Whether you’re looking to build a more inclusive environment, strengthen bonds between members, or improve communication, this training will equip you with the skills to engage others in open discussions to build unity and trust.
Adviser 101 – Learn how to better support youth by learning key strategies to develop lasting, positive relationships. This section will provide you with practical tools to nurture youth development and help them succeed.
Shows
Family Feud – During our Saturday night show, come hang out with all of Section G9 and represent your lodge by testing out your knowledge of International Scouting! This is a show you won’t want to miss being a part of, and we can’t wait to see you there!
Grilled Cheese Competition – Our Friday night show will star your G9 CVCs in a heated competition cooking grilled cheese sandwiches with cheeses from around the world. You won’t want to miss this competition, with special guest judge Gateway Region Chief Haley Flores! See you for the crunchiest contest of the weekend.
